We spend so much time with the living I thought it was time to devote a few hours to the dearly departed particularly those of the more famous variety . On this note I decided May 17th was a good day to invite fellow 35ers to spend some time with Sir Marc Isambard Brunel and Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the mathematician Charles Babbage, and the novelists Wilkie Collins, Anthony Trollope and William Makepeace Thackeray; Lord Byron's wife, Oscar Wilde's mother, Charles Dickens' in-laws and Winston Churchill's daughter. If this wasn`t enough I added in a cross-dressing Army doctor and the surgeon who attended Nelson at Trafalgar; the creator of Pears' Soap, and the original WH Smith . Finally, I decided the the last man to fight a duel in England could also do with some company. I`m sure the winner of this duel retired to a tavern shortly afterwards and in that vein William iV will calls after spending time in such robust company.
